FLOWERZ OF ROMANCE (Grey & pink)
Georg Steidinger l FLOWERZ OF ROMANCE (Grey & Pink)
Mixed media on canvas, 60x60 cm, framed
At first glance, "Flowerz of Romance" presents a vibrant tableau of flowers, depicted in an exposition of colors and textures. The flowers themselves—a blend of realistic and abstract styles—are partly detailed, while others are only hinted at, almost ghostly, suggesting the fleeting nature of memories and the past. Here, the romanticization of the past becomes the central theme. With emotions and details that may not have been present at the time, yet in memory, the positive prevails—a form of distorted self-perception. At the same time, the image is a tribute to the band P.i.L (Public Image Limited) and their album "Flowers of Romance" (1981).
